PART 4The Rasta concept of ”i-ree” means a high degree of bliss and reflects the reaction of smoking ganja. Not everyone turns i-ree and ganja is consumed for other reasons than getting i-ree. Different people emphasize different aspects of the herb. It can be used against hunger or thirst, but in general it is used simply to feel good. Most people praise it. Only those in power condemn it.

Provocatively, U-Roy wants to smoke a chalice together with Her Majesty and gives us priceless soundbites as when he tells the queen that they may not be birds of one feather but should stick together. All from the steaming mid-70’s when U-Roy really ruled.
