BABYLON
PART 3Daily life in Jamaica 1978-79 is dreary. There is nothing to get in the shops and no money to get it with. The International Monetary Fund sits heavily on the nation’s economy, demanding further cuts. People have to find day-to-day solutions. They’ve got to survive. In the meantime, the rulers are getting less and less popular.
SOUND
Windel Haye: Flood Victim. On a Disco-45 from Studio 1, 1979.
Another strange sound from Studio One. Produced after a major flood hit Jamaica. This is the flip side of a Johnny Osbourne sound called ”Water more than flour”.
