As a nation, Jamaica is rather smoke-filled and it’s not tobacco. Of course this has attracted anthropologists from all over the world. Some of them made a study in the 70’s that has been widely acclaimed and quoted ever since. In the study they found, basically, that the smoking population seemed quite normal, and that was it. Unfortunately the study had no political consequences. (Lambros Comitas & Vera Rubin: ”Ganja in Jamaica”, 1976.)
Lee Perry: Colombia Colly. From the LP ”Colombia Colly”, Island Records, 1976.
